There is no cost to participate. However, you must be registered for varsity/JV tryouts.

*Middle school players must be 2005, 2006 or 2007 birth year player.

Players that will be in 9th grade can play middle school or JV/varsity if they are a 2005 birth year player.

Neshannock Hockey Club (NHC) plans to have a middle school team, junior varsity team and varsity team. Our approved PIHL co-op schools are Neshannock, Shenango, Laurel, Mercer, Hickory and Grove City and Kennedy Catholic. Students currently enrolled in these schools are eligible to register and attend the skills evaluation sessions appropriate for their birth year and grade in school. Players should attend the tryout session for the age group in which he/she will compete in for the 2019-2020 season. 2005 birth year players may register for and attend both tryout sessions on April 30. All sessions will be held at Hess Ice Rink, 3365 Mitchell Road, New Castle, PA.

There is no registration/evaluation fee for returning players that do not owe NHC any money. New players and returning players with an outstanding balance must pay a non-refundable $25 evaluation fee during registration.

A commitment fee of $100.00 is also due from ALL players and MUST be turned in at the first tryout session. If player is offered and accepts placement on one of our teams, the commitment fee will be applied to player’s 2019-2020 season fees. If a player is not offered or declines an offer for placement by the deadline the commitment fee check will be destroyed. If a player does not respond by the deadline or leaves the organization after first having accepted an offer, the commitment fee is non-refundable. All checks must be made payable to “NHC”.

All participants in the skills evaluation sessions are required to be registered with USA Hockey for the 2019-2020 season. No one will be permitted to participate in the skills evaluation or team activities until they have done so. During the online registration process, you will be prompted to provide that information and will not be permitted to register without it. If your child is not currently registered for the 2019-2020 season, you may register online with USA Hockey at
